Privacy Policy for Lafz
Effective Date: October 14, 2026
Developer: Nascentra Labs
Current offering: Free to use. No subscriptions, in-app purchases, or advertisements.
1. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Lafz, the Urdu word puzzle and reading application provided by Nascentra Labs. It covers information used on your device, information you choose to share, and communications you send to us. Core play and reading work offline and do not require a Lafz account. This does not mean that every related activity is offline: device backups, Google Play, external links, and the services you select for sharing may involve other providers. The sections below explain those distinctions so that you can make informed choices. This notice describes privacy practices; it does not treat installation or continued use as consent to unrelated processing.
2. Who Is Responsible for Your Information
Nascentra Labs develops Lafz and is responsible for the personal information it receives when you contact us about the application. Where applicable privacy law uses the term “controller,” Nascentra Labs acts in that role for its handling of those communications. We do not operate a Lafz account service or a remote collection of your puzzle and reading history. Google, your device provider, and any messaging or sharing service you select may have separate responsibilities for information they handle. For questions about our practices or to exercise a privacy right, contact nascentra@gmail.com or WhatsApp at +923477419855. You do not need to create an account to contact us.
3. No Account, Subscription, or Payment Information
Lafz does not require registration, a username, an email address, or a telephone number for ordinary play and reading. The current application is free and does not offer subscriptions, paid trials, in-app purchases, or recurring charges. Accordingly, Lafz does not ask you to provide payment card details or maintain a billing profile with Nascentra Labs. Your Google Play account is separate from Lafz and is managed by Google under its own terms and privacy arrangements. If you voluntarily email or message us, we will receive the contact information associated with that communication. That voluntary support interaction does not create a Lafz account or enroll you in a paid service.
4. Puzzle Progress and Play Statistics
Lafz keeps information about your play on your device so that you can resume a puzzle and review your progress. This can include guesses, completed and unfinished games, results, streaks, practice activity, and related statistics. These records support the features you see in the application; Nascentra Labs does not receive a routine feed of your guesses or an individual record of your playing activity. Local records may be included in an operating-system backup if that service is enabled, as explained below. A result you deliberately share may also leave your device through the destination you choose. Clearing application storage can remove progress, and we cannot retrieve a lost local history from a Lafz account.
5. Saved Words, Verse, and Reading Choices
Words and verses you choose to keep are stored locally so that you can find them again. Lafz also uses your selections within the application to present the reading and vocabulary features you request. Saved material can reveal personal interests, so you should consider who can access your unlocked device or its backups. Nascentra Labs does not receive your saved collection merely because you keep a word or verse. You can remove items using the available controls, and clearing the application’s storage removes the local collection. Copies you independently save, share, or restore through another service remain subject to the controls of that service and are not removed simply by changing your collection in Lafz.
6. Reading History and Personal Suggestions
Lafz remembers reading activity on your device, including searches you complete, words you look up, verses you read, and word families you explore. It uses that local history to offer relevant suggestions and make it easier to continue discovering content. This is personalization within Lafz; Nascentra Labs does not receive that history for advertising, cross-app tracking, or a remote interest profile. Settings includes a control to clear reading history and reset the interests used for suggestions. Clearing that history leaves kept words, kept verses, streaks, and play statistics in place. New reading activity can build a new local history after a reset; clearing history is not a permanent switch that stops future local remembering.
7. Preferences and Basic Device Context
The application stores preferences such as the chosen meaning language, appearance, keyboard layout, sound and vibration choices, and reminder settings. It also uses basic operating information, including the device’s date, time zone, application version, and notification status, where needed to display the correct daily experience or operate a feature. Using a time zone does not give Lafz access to precise location. These settings and contextual details support functionality on your device and are not a marketing profile sent to Nascentra Labs. Some settings may be restored by your device’s backup service. You can change the available preferences in Lafz or use Android’s application settings for system-level controls.
8. Optional Word Reminders and Notifications
Word reminders are optional. If you enable them, Lafz uses your chosen schedule and the device’s notification settings to display vocabulary reminders. On Android versions that require it, notification permission is requested before reminders can be shown. You may decline permission, change the schedule, or turn notifications off without losing access to the core puzzle and reading features. Your device may display reminder text on its lock screen, depending on your system settings, so review notification visibility if other people can see your screen. Reminders may resume after a restart or update while they remain enabled. They do not require you to give us a telephone number or subscribe to marketing messages.
9. Device Permissions and Access Boundaries
Lafz does not request access to your contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, or an unrestricted collection of personal photos and files for its core experience. Notification access supports optional reminders, and a sharing action makes the selected result or picture available to the app you choose. Permission granted to another application remains governed by that application’s behavior and your Android settings. Lafz’s ability to play sounds or provide vibration feedback does not mean it records audio. You can inspect the permissions shown for Lafz in Android and revoke optional access where supported. If a permission is refused, the related optional feature may be limited while ordinary play and reading remain available.
10. Offline Use, Advertising, and Diagnostics
The current Lafz application has no advertisements, advertising identifiers used by us, or embedded advertising and behavioral analytics services. Core puzzle and reading activity does not require an internet connection, and we do not receive an automatic stream of your searches, reading history, or game inputs. Google Play or your operating system may independently provide installation, reliability, or crash information under the settings and policies of those services. Any such reports made available to us are used to understand application reliability, not to reconstruct your private reading activity. Information you deliberately include in a support report is handled as correspondence, rather than as automatically collected in-app analytics.
11. Device Backups and Restoration
Lafz allows Android’s backup and device-transfer features to operate. Depending on your device, provider, and settings, locally stored progress, preferences, saved items, and reading history may therefore be copied into a device backup or transferred when you move to another device. Nascentra Labs does not operate that backup service or receive access to your backup account. We consequently do not promise that locally stored information can never leave your device. Review your system’s backup settings to decide what is retained and how restoration works. Clearing data on one device may not erase an existing backup, and a later restoration may bring records back. Android’s backup guidance explains the platform’s general behavior.
12. Sharing Results, Words, and Verse
When you choose to share a result, word, or verse, Lafz prepares the selected text or picture and opens the device’s sharing options. A result can contain game-related details such as a result grid or streak, so review the content and intended audience before sending it. The receiving app, account, or person may retain, publish, or forward that material according to its own practices. Lafz may keep temporary copies of prepared pictures on your device to complete sharing. Nascentra Labs does not receive a copy simply because you use the share feature. Deleting local history or uninstalling Lafz does not recall a message, remove a public post, or delete a copy already received by another service or person.
13. Google Play Updates and Reviews
Versions distributed through Google Play may use Google’s update and review features. Those interactions can involve information Google needs to provide its store services, such as application and device information, installation or update status, and a rating or review you choose to submit. Your Google account and any public review are governed by Google’s settings and policies; a review may be visible to other people. Lafz does not receive your Google password, and submitting a review is not necessary to play. Information made available to developers through Google Play is distinct from your local reading history. See the Google Privacy Policy for Google’s processing and the controls available for its services.
14. Support Correspondence and Voluntary Information
If you email Nascentra Labs or contact the WhatsApp support line, we receive the message, your email address or telephone number, any profile details the service makes available, and any attachments you send. We use this information to respond, investigate the issue, and maintain an appropriate record of the exchange. You can usually explain a problem with an application version, a device model, and a short description; please avoid sending passwords, payment details, identity documents, or unrelated private material. Email and WhatsApp providers process communications under their own privacy arrangements. Choosing not to contact support does not prevent core app use, and contacting us does not subscribe you to marketing.
15. Purposes and Applicable Legal Grounds
Information handled within Lafz supports the functions you request, such as maintaining progress, keeping preferences, providing suggestions, and showing reminders. For information Nascentra Labs actually receives, our purposes are to answer requests, resolve reported problems, protect the service from misuse, and meet applicable legal obligations. Where a lawful basis is required, the relevant basis may be responding to a request connected with our service, a legitimate interest in support and reliability that does not override your rights, a legal obligation, or consent where required. We do not rely on a blanket acceptance of this policy for unrelated uses. You may contact us for clarification about the basis applicable to a particular support interaction.
16. Sharing, Service Providers, and Legal Requests
Nascentra Labs does not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Information you send to support is available only as needed to handle the request, using the communication services involved. If disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation, or is necessary and permitted to protect rights and address abuse, we limit it to information relevant to that purpose. Such a request does not give us access to a local history we do not hold. Transfers you initiate through sharing, device backups, or Google Play are described separately in this policy. If responsibility for Lafz changes, any transfer of support records must respect applicable law and the purposes described here, with notice where required.
17. Retention of Local and Support Information
Local progress, saved items, and preferences remain available as needed for the app’s continuing features until you change or remove them, clear application storage, or uninstall, subject to device backup and restoration behavior. Reading history can be reset separately in Settings. Temporary share pictures may be replaced as further pictures are prepared or removed through cache controls. Support correspondence is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the matter, maintain a relevant support record, resolve a dispute, or comply with a legal requirement; we do not keep it for an unrelated marketing purpose. Retention depends on the nature of the request and applicable obligations. You may ask us to delete information we hold and explain any necessary exception.
18. Deletion, Choices, and Privacy Rights
You can clear reading history in Lafz Settings, remove saved items, adjust reminders, and manage permissions through Android. To remove the broader local app data, use Android’s clear-storage control for Lafz or uninstall it, taking account of any backup you may later restore. A reading-history reset alone does not erase saved items or statistics. For information Nascentra Labs holds, applicable law may give you rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. Contact us to exercise these rights or raise a complaint; you may also contact a competent privacy authority where available. We may request proportionate verification, respond within applicable legal deadlines, and explain lawful limitations. There is no Lafz account to delete.
19. Security and Your Device
Lafz relies on the device’s application storage protections for local information. The security of an unlocked, shared, modified, or compromised device can differ from that of a device protected with current updates and a strong screen lock. Nascentra Labs limits the use of support information to the purposes described in this notice, but no application, backup service, or communication channel can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect access to your device and backup accounts, and check the contents of screenshots before sending them to support. If you believe a privacy or security problem affects Lafz, contact us with a description sufficient to investigate, without including unnecessary personal information or publishing someone else’s private material.
20. Children and Younger Users
Lafz does not ask users to provide an age, identity profile, or contact details to play and read. It is not intended to solicit personal information from children below the age at which they may lawfully use the service without appropriate adult involvement. A parent or guardian should consider the applicable store age rating, the reading material, notification visibility, device backups, and any external sharing services before allowing a child to use the application. We do not knowingly collect a child’s personal information through support without a lawful basis or required parental involvement. If you believe a child has sent us information improperly, contact us so that we can assess the situation and delete it where required. Avoid sending unnecessary identity documents with a request.
21. International Use and External Processing
Lafz can be used in different countries, but local gameplay and reading do not require you to send a personal history to Nascentra Labs. When you choose to contact us, use Google Play, enable a device backup, or share through another service, those providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their notices explain their locations and transfer arrangements. For personal information within our responsibility, we follow applicable transfer restrictions and use legally required safeguards where relevant, rather than treating use of the app as unrestricted consent to an international transfer. You may contact us about a specific communication or transfer concern so we can explain what information we hold and which service was involved.
22. Websites and External Destinations
Opening a policy page, support destination, or store listing takes you to a website or service with its own technical operations. Visiting a website can disclose connection information, such as an IP address and browser details, to the hosting and delivery providers needed to serve the page. Website preferences and external resources are separate from Lafz’s offline game and reading records. The Nascentra website Privacy Policy applies to the website alongside any notice shown for a particular service. Links do not mean that we control another provider’s practices. Review the destination’s privacy information before submitting details, and remember that closing an external page does not necessarily remove information already received by that provider.
23. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy when Lafz’s features, relevant privacy practices, or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current published version. A material change to the way personal information is handled will be explained through an appropriate notice, and we will request consent before a new use where the law requires it. We will not describe a future data practice as already active simply because it is being considered, nor treat this notice as permission to introduce undisclosed collection. Please review the policy when installing an update or choosing a new optional feature. Earlier information remains subject to applicable legal protections, and any new purpose must have an appropriate legal basis.
24. Privacy Contact and Requests
For privacy questions, deletion requests concerning information we hold, or concerns about this policy, contact Nascentra Labs at nascentra@gmail.com or through WhatsApp at +923477419855. Identify Lafz and briefly describe the information or issue involved so that we can direct your request appropriately. You may choose either channel; WhatsApp is optional and its provider has separate privacy practices. We do not need your device password, Google password, payment card details, or a copy of your entire reading history to receive a request. We will explain the available steps, including when deletion must be completed on your own device or through a backup provider, and respond in accordance with applicable requirements.
