This Privacy Policy describes how Nascentra Labs ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application, QR/Barcode Batch Scan: No Ads (the "App").

We recognize that privacy is not just a legal requirement but a fundamental right. Our App is built on a "Privacy-First" architecture, meaning it is designed from the ground up to operate without tracking you, profiling you, or moving your data off your device.

1. Our Core Privacy Commitment

We believe in complete transparency. Unlike many other apps in the marketplace, our business model is not based on selling user data or advertising. We do not collect your personal information, we do not track your location, and we do not upload your scan history to the cloud.

2. Real-Time On-Device Processing

The core functionality of this App—scanning QR codes and barcodes—is performed entirely on your device. When you point your camera at a code, the image frames are analyzed in real-time by the processor inside your phone. These images are never saved to a file, never recorded, and never transmitted to us or any third party. Once the code is recognized, the image data is instantly discarded from memory.

3. Storage of Scanned Content

When a code is successfully scanned, the text or link contained within that code is saved to a private database located directly on your phone's internal storage. This database is sandboxed, meaning other apps cannot access it. You retain full ownership of this data. We (Nascentra Labs) have no technical means to access, view, or export this database.

4. Camera Permission Usage

We request access to your device's camera for a single, strictly defined purpose: to act as a visual sensor for detecting barcodes.

  • How we use it: The camera feed is used solely to recognize patterns (QR codes, UPCs, etc.).
  • What we don't do: We do not use the camera to take hidden photos, we do not use facial recognition, and we do not use the camera when the App is in the background.

5. Internet Permission Usage

You may notice that the App requests permission to access the Internet. We want to explain exactly why this is necessary for your experience, despite our offline-first approach:

  • Opening Links: If you scan a QR code containing a website URL (e.g., https://example.com), the App needs internet access to verify and open that link in your browser.
  • Engine Updates: The underlying scanning technology we use may occasionally need to check for very small updates to its recognition logic (for example, to recognize a new type of barcode format).
  • No Data Exfiltration: This permission is not used to send your personal data, scan history, or usage habits to our servers.

6. Vibration and Haptic Feedback

We use the vibration permission to provide physical feedback when a scan is successful. This confirms to you, without needing to look at the screen, that the code has been captured. This setting is entirely optional and can be disabled in the App's settings menu if you prefer a silent experience.

7. Zero-Ads Policy

This App is completely free of commercial advertisements.

  • We do not display banner ads, pop-ups, or video ads.
  • Because we do not show ads, we do not need to integrate with "Ad Networks" (third-party companies that track users across apps to show targeted ads). Your usage of this App remains private and isolated from the broader advertising ecosystem.

8. No User Tracking or Analytics

We do not use behavioral tracking software. We do not build profiles on our users. We do not know:

  • Who you are.
  • Where you are located.
  • What specific items you are scanning.
  • How often you use the App.

9. Data Security Measures

Although the data lives on your device, we still employ security best practices. The App utilizes the Android operating system's built-in security features, such as application sandboxing, to ensure that the data you save cannot be accessed by malicious apps or external actors.

10. Data Retention and Control

Since we do not store your data on our servers, "data retention" is entirely under your control.

  • Indefinite Storage: Your scan history stays on your phone as long as you want it there.
  • Immediate Deletion: You can delete individual items or clear your entire history instantly via the App's interface. Once you delete an item, it is permanently removed from your device's storage and cannot be recovered.

11. No Account Required

You do not need to create an account, sign in via email, or link a social media profile to use this App. This ensures that your activity on the App cannot be linked back to your real-world identity.

12. External Links and Third-Party Content

If you scan a QR code that leads to a third-party website, please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of that website. Once you leave our App to open a link in your browser, our Privacy Policy no longer applies, and you should review the policy of the website you are visiting.

13. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect or solicit data from children. Because we do not collect personal data from anyone, this protection naturally extends to children. If you are a parent or guardian and are concerned about your child's use of apps, please rest assured that this App acts as a standalone tool with no social or data-sharing features.
